Sita - The impersonal lover
|
Meditation is impersonal yet profoundly
personal love. It is a state of mind. I don’t know much about Sita apart
from the fact that she is an ardent devotee of
Baba Faqir.
I took these photos with a cheap camera at the
Manavta Mandir Temple in Hoshiarpur in '96. |
I imagine that you can still find Sita in the
temple, and she won’t look a day older than she does in these photos. She
will smile at you and greet you as only your dearest friend or lover could.
Most likely, you will feel perplexed—perhaps even shocked. But her intimacy
doesn’t feel sticky or unpleasant in any way.
Confusing thoughts may come: 'I know this lady... I know her very well! I am
sure!... but from where? Where did I meet her? Why can't I remember... have
I got amnesia?'
And Sita will look at you with eyes that say, 'Where have you been so long,
my love? I have missed you so much! You are my most important and dear
sister/brother!'
And actually, Sita is not the one loving you. It is God loving you—because
you exist.
